Family Involvement
Red Rock Day School recognizes parents and guardians as valuable partners in helping students reach their highest potential. Families and the school staff work together to design effective education plans. Research shows that a strong school-family partnership is important throughout the learning process and fosters academic achievement.
Parents and guardians are their children’s first teachers and should remain involved in classroom learning. Family involvement in educational programs, including extracurricular activities, helps students develop lifelong learning habits. Students whose families take an active role in the learning process experience significant advantages in academic performance.
Parent Advisory Committee
Our Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) is composed of parents, guardians, and school personnel. The PAC holds regular meetings on the first Wednesday of every month to design an effective school plan. The school notifies all parents/guardians of the finalized policy via easily understandable written correspondence. Parents and guardians are encouraged to participate in ongoing involvement to improve the school’s Parent/Guardian Involvement Policy.
Family involvement improves household literacy through reading initiatives, book fairs and household libraries. Our Parent Advisory Committee offers several opportunities to visit our campus and teachers during activities like parent nights, science fairs, and school board meetings. Families are our students’ greatest assets and are essential to their progress.
Students are supported and prepared to become leaders in our Navajo community through our academic, athletic, and cultural programs. We invite families and community members to share their knowledge and support Red Rock Day School’s holistic curriculum. Through constant family and community involvement, our students will continue to reach their highest potential.
